The Brussels Griffon breed has a coat of fur that can vary from a few different textures. There are the rough-coated Brussels, in which the coat seems harsh wiry and dense. The smooth-coated or Petit Brabancon type Brussels has a coat in which the hair is short, straight, and glossy. The coat coloring can vary. There are red coated Brussels, a mixture of red-brown and black coated Brussels, black & tan griffons, and solid black Brussels.
